Flora Market Baby Quilt Complete!

I have finally finished my first official quilt! I have made plenty of blankets and I only have the binding left to do on my other quilt, but this is my first start to finish quilt-quilt.
I made this for my beautiful new niece, Maris. It was the perfect excuse to make a smaller quilt that I COULD actually finish :).
I have had pink and green swimming in my head since the pattern testing for Patty and a lot of fun scraps of her fabric as well. So I paired her Flora & Fauna and Mezzanine fabrics with some Farmer's Market from Sandi Henderson, Summer Soiree dots from Paula Prass, Soiree from Lila Tueller and a little Pop Garden from Heather Bailey. All my favorite designers!
The pattern is Vintage Baby by Kati Cupcake. I decided against the ruffles which I love but I just didn't think it needed it.
I machine stippled it and then washed it to give it all that crinkly goodness! And then I did my first hand sewn binding. Man, were my fingers sore!
I am just tickled pink at the way it turned out. I hope she likes it!

Mini Nina Reveal!

I've been so excited to share the pictures of my pattern testing I did for Patty Young. She revealed it today on her website

Her patterns are so cute and so easy to follow. All of these were patterns for little girls and now she has them for 18" dollies.
This pattern is called the Mini Nina. It comes with a cute skirt and three top variations. These with made with Patty's Flora & Fauna line and Mezzanine fabric line.

I couldn't resist trying all three! And my girls and my niece are so excited to have new clothes for their dolls.
Thanks for the opportunity again Patty, it is so fun!

Flora Market Baby Quilt WIP!

I've had a productive week. Man, it feels so good to say that! Here is a WIP baby quilt I am working on for my new baby niece, Maris.
It's almost done, I am actually doing my first hand sewn binding on it. My fingers are so sore! Can't wait to show the finished project!

Crocheted Edge Pillowcases

I discovered a Crochet-Along on You Go Girl's blog and I knew I had to join in! I haven't crocheted in forever and I thought it looked like a fun way to try it out again.
I made these pillowcases for Sophie's birthday. Her favorite color is green and I thought these Amy Butler Daisy Chain fabrics would fit the bill.  I've got more fabric to make a matching quilt for her (someday!).

This may just be the start of a serious addiction....

Hunky Dory

I have a thing for fabric, an addiction really. And the only people that understand it are other fellow addicts. I will obsess over certain fabric lines and dream of everything I am going to do with them until I can get my hands on it! Right now I am swooning over Hunky Dory by Chez Moi for Moda. I don't know what it is, the springy-ness, the colors, and I love florals. I'm dying to have it! The problem is I can't decide WHAT I want to do with it so I haven't purchased any yet because I don't know how much or what I'll need. Does anyone else out there struggle with that? Ho hum, what's an addict to do?

Testing Done

We had a wonderful mini vacation to the OC, it's always so hard to come back! But I was excited to finish up my pattern testing for Patty Young. I ended up making three little outfits of her new doll pattern. I can't show you the whole thing until the pattern is released, but here is a teaser pic:

I got to use the Raspberry palette from the Flora & Fauna collection and the Pink combo from Mezzanine. Pink and green just happen to be my favorite colors so this was a lot of fun.
Can't wait to show you rest! But for now I get to start my next project, the crocheted pillowcase for my Sophie's birthday. Yay!

Happy Easter All!

We decided to take a weekend trip down to Southern California, our home as of 9 months ago. It's a (very) long story, but all of our things are in storage there and I realized the other day that that included all of the kids Easter baskets! What a great excuse to come "home" for a visit. We've had a great time visiting with our old friends, enjoying the beach and the perfect weather, and shopping of course!

Wishing you a beautiful Easter day! Hope we can all reflect on the wonderful blessings in our lives.

Playing Nurse

So the day after I arrived home from our Spring Break with my big Craft To Do list, my poor mom slipped and fell at work. She sprained her wrist, broke her elbow, mangled her knee and fractured her leg! All on the right side. Needless to say she is in pretty bad shape and can't do anything. She can't put any pressure on her leg and can't use crutches because of her elbow/wrist. My dad works full time, soooo, I have been taking care of my mom. Between that and my four little ones I have had very little time for anything else. I'm glad I'm here so I can be taking care of her, but I am also anxious to get on with my fun list!

Today I was able to finish my pattern testing for Patty Young. I am happy with the way they turned out and just need to take pictures and get those off to her. I will post pictures as soon as I'm allowed!

Next up I am going to make some baby girl items for my brother and sister-in-law who had a beautiful baby girl, Maris. Stay tuned!

For now my mom is healing more and everyday, but still needs my daily help. Prayers are welcomed :).
