Peppermint Fun!

I have always loved hearts and of course I Christmas.
So when I saw this idea here, I knew I had to make them.
It's the perfect gift to give to friends and neighbors along with a "Merry Christmas with Love" note.

They were really easy and fun to make.
I worried about how "eatable" they would be, but they crunch easily and taste divine!
Somehow regular old peppermint bark just isn't going to cut it anymore.;)

Blackberry Jam

Been itching to make more jam! I can't believe that what I thought would be a year supply is almost used up! I did give a lot of it away (which adds to the fun of making it), so it was a great excuse to make more. On a recent trip to Costco they had blackberries! I didn't think berries would be in season anymore so I jumped at the chance. I just love blackberries.

It is yum, yum, yummy!

Quilt Top Complete!

I finished my quilt top for the Old Red Barn Co. quilt-a-long! I totally love it. I could make a million quilt tops. But now comes the hard part. Putting it together with the batting and backing. Pinning it together and then quilting!

I think I may try doing the machine stippling as shown in the quilt-a-long but I'll admit I am nervous. I've never tried it before and I don't want to mess up on it and ruin my quilt. Whooo, breathe. I will do some practicing and see if I can handle it.
So tomorrow I've got to the batting and get to work!

Quilt is Cut!

I cut all the squares from my strips and I got 42, 12" blocks! So I will have 6 rows by 7 rows.

I started laying out the blocks on the floor and then Miss C got up from her nap and she couldn't wait to crawl all over the goodness! Little rascal, the
more I tried to stop her, the more she wanted to crawl all over it.

I was finally able to occupy her with some other toys and get the layout "layed out". Can't wait to start sewing!

Quilting-a-Long

Last night I got all my stripping done and without a pole lol! Don't you just love those colors! Instead of Christmas in July, I'm calling this Summer in November.
Sherbet and flip flops anyone?

Old Red Barn Co. Quilt-a-Long

Back in June Dana at the Old Red Barn Co. had a really fun quilt-a-long! I hadn't made an actual quilt quilt (just a lot of baby ones) in a long time. So I thought I would join along. By the time I got all the fabric I needed it was just about over and I started a bunch of other projects. Well....I finally decided to dig in and get started. I am having so much fun!

The fabric I chose is Flights of Fancy by Paula Prass. At the time there was a sewing machine give-away and you got more entries for using this fabric. So of course that's the fabric I got. And I'm so glad I did! I am loving these colors and Paula Prass is now one of my favorite designers.

So I followed along and here are my strips all nicely cut out.

My strip "flowers". Next up, sewing the strips together!
