Today I would like to share something very near and dear to my heart. My amazing mom has compiled a book. It is based on the most significant book in history--The Holy Bible. First let me tell you how this book came about.
A couple of years ago my mom had a terrible accident at work that left her totally immobilized. You can read a little more about it here. As she struggled with what was happening, she longed to find comfort in her beloved scriptures, but wished it had been easier to quickly access her favorite verses. She searched for a book that could give her just that, but it was nowhere to be found. So with the time that her recuperation gave her, she wrote the book that she longed to have.
The book is compiled from the best-loved verses and stories in the King James version of the Bible. It's organized by the different roles our Father in Heaven has in our lives: Creator, Deliverer, Lawgiver, Father, Savior, Comforter, and Teacher. There is also an area where you can add your favorite scriptures to truly personalize it.
This book has been such a labor of love for my mom and we are all so excited about the outcome. So I would like to give one away to you! I might even sneak in some fabric treats for the lucky winner. All you have to do is leave a comment. Tell me your favorite holiday tradition, or if you have a favorite scripture, I'd love to hear it! Giveaway entries will be open until Fri. November 16th at midnight Pacific time and winner will be chosen through the Random Number Generator.
This book is the perfect little gift book for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, Graduation, you name it! If you'd like to order your own copy(ies) you can do so on the website at www.lettersfromhomethebook.com or you can order directly through Amazon here. Thank you for your support and good luck!

My favorite verse is "ALL things work together for good, to those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose". What a beautiful thing your mother has done, I would love to use this book in daily devotions! xoxo melzie
My favorite story is the story of the 10 virgins. I always think "Which virgin will I be?" This sound like a great book.
Our favorite holiday tradition was going up to the Salt Lake Temple grounds after they had turned on the Christmas lights..Such peace and beauty..We no longer live in that area and are not able to enjoy.
i, too, love the ten virgins ... reading the king james version, which i, also, do both at home and at church, i reflect how i'm doing -- which group of five ...
I bet you are so proud of your mom! I am! I don't have a favorite verse but would love to win your moms book. My favorite holiday tradition is just simply spending time with family and friends. Happy Holidays!
I would love to win this book, I love opening the bible or prayer book at a random page and read what's there for me. Sometimes it is like they are sending me a message because what I read is exactly what I needed to hear!
I am so very proud and excited for your Mom!! I will be spreading the word about her book. My favorite Christmas tradition is each year we have a large quilt-like advent calendar. I fill it with good deeds, small and large, that my family will do until Christmas. It helps us focus on the Savior in a big way and the kids look forward to it every year.
On another note, I just talked to Justin's cousin a couple days ago who is a seamstress who sews dance costumes. We talked about sewing being a lost art. She has really struggled to find people with sewing skills to help her. So, I just wanted applaud you for what you do and compliment you on your beautiful work. Take care and keep up the great work!
What a wonderful idea! Somedays are so busy - just to have something like this - to pick up and read a quick story is awesome! My favorite holiday tradition was when we were kids. All the cousins got together and played with our Christmas gifts together. Now were all spread across the United States - oh how I wish we could go back just once more.
I hope your mother is better each day. I know it has been hard for her and for you. Thanks for sharing what sounds like a wonderful book with us and giving us the opportunity to win a copy. Psalm 91 always brings comfort to me and gives me strength.
Ellie - this is exactly the kind of book I've always wanted too - I'm so glad your mom was able to spend the time to compile this - and the title is absolutely perfect! My favorite scripture right now is from John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled..." There are others that I love depending on what's going on in my life - that's the neat thing about a book like this is that you can use it as a resource to find the perfect scripture to give you comfort and support no matter what you are going through in life. Is it available in any ebook formats?
Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I
found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but
I had to tell someone!
my web page; ideal waist to height ratio
